Stryker (NYSE:SYK), one of the world鈥檚 leading medical technology companies, announced today that it has completed the acquisition of Cerus Endovascular Ltd., a privately held, commercial-stage, medical device company engaged in the design and development of neurointerventional devices for the treatment of intracranial aneurysms. Cerus Endovascular鈥檚 CE Marked products, the Contour Neurovascular System and the Neqstent Coil Assisted Flow Diverter, will expand Stryker鈥檚 current portfolio of aneurysm treatment solutions.
Technology for the endovascular treatment of aneurysms has been foundational to Stryker鈥檚 Neurovascular division and Cerus Endovascular鈥檚 portfolio will address the growing need for one-and-done intrasaccular aneurysm therapy.
鈥淭he acquisition of Cerus Endovascular is highly complementary to Stryker鈥檚 Neurovascular business, and strengthens our hemorrhagic portfolio globally,鈥 stated Jim Marucci, president of Stryker鈥檚 Neurovascular division. 鈥淲e look forward to working with the Cerus team to deliver on our mission of making healthcare better. Together, we will enable physicians to treat a broader range of aneurysms.鈥
