Together with our customers, we are driven to make healthcare better. Even though “together” has had a bit of a different meaning in our new virtual, socially-distanced environment, our team at Stryker has remained steadfast in our pursuit to make healthcare better. ��ɫ��Ƶ teams across Stryker have been working diligently to continue to innovate and to deliver the technology and tools required to meet the needs of today as well as tomorrow.

Throughout the ongoing challenges brought about by this global pandemic, we have all turned to technology more than ever before to stay connected and informed. I have enjoyed seeing our teams embrace new virtual settings and have been inspired to see the collaboration and connectedness amongst our internal teams as well as with you, our HCP partners.

As many of you recall, we launched our new Mako SmartRobotics^TM campaign – featuring Mako’s unique 3D CT-based planning, AccuStop^TM haptic technology and insightful data analytics – at last November’s American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) annual meeting.

While our participation in this year’s annual AAHKS meeting was virtual, there were still some amazing opportunities to connect with our HCP partners through webinars and presentations, where we shared more clinical data and information about Mako’s 14+ years of clinical history, including 10 year follow up of Restoris MCK partial knees from Dr Roche. We’ve curated a collection of posters and presentations from some of our virtual presentations at November’s AAHKS annual meeting in this newsletter, which you can view at the link below.

As we approach the 7th anniversary of welcoming Mako into the Stryker family, we are delighted to share another milestone. We now have 200 peer reviewed publications featuring Mako! These are a mixture of Stryker funded and independent research. The publications are roughly equally split between the three applications with almost half being about outcomes. Around 14% were about accuracy and an impressive 6% of the publications being around health care economics. These publications were driven by our HCP partners from the USA, ��ɫ��Ƶ and Australia for the most part but there are also publications from China amongst other countries. We continue to partner with centers and key opinion leaders around the world to continue to build our evidence base in the literature and establish Mako as the only robotic system with published clinical and economic benefits in all applications.
